First Stage of Works Completed

Friday, December 02, 2016
The ongoing works to reinforce the electrical supply throughout Ross are now moving into new stages.

In order to ensure that the recent excavation of the Police grounds to supply power to Copse Cross Street all went without a hitch, and that the street is fully energised, all joining has been thoroughly checked, and happily the road closure in this area has been lifted earlier than the initial expected deadline of Friday 2nd December.

Local businesses have had their needs accommodated throughout the road closure, and have been very understanding. The council have maintained all street lights along Copse Cross Street and have tried to cause as little disturbance as possible, with access to all properties and businesses remaining active. The next phases of the project are still under negotiation for sub-station sites, and as the first proposed site is a conservation area, more discussions will be undertaken to ensure as little damage as possible is done to the area. The map below shows the prospected site.

The following phase will replace the sub-station in Broad Street, as it is no longer accessible and a new location needs to be established. Legal agreements are still in development to allow for this to take place.

We will keep you up to date with developments as we get them, and if you have any questions or concerns, please do drop us a line at chair@associationofrosstraders.co.uk and we will do everything we can to try and get answers.
